First things first, I had to know how this device was constructed.
Conclusion: Much better than the cheap $15 knockoff I tried first. It uses an actual TI wireless charging IC http://www.ti.com/product/bq500211
My advice to those considering purchasing a wireless charging pad: get one from a reputable manufacturer like Samsung, LG, HTC etc.. The no name ones may be cheaper but do not reliably charge your devices fully and are much more crudely designed. Put that $15 towards the cost of a decent one ($40).
